Nothing much new is going on around here training wise. Still doing decent with the LLW work, when he hits the end of the leash he seems to be bouncing back to a loose leash more than continuing to pull the way he wants to go, which is great. Now I need to start working on rewarding at gradually longer intervals and then moving closer to trees and other environmental stimulus that he wants access to.
I charged the clicker last night a little bit. The problem is that he is getting 2/3 cup of TOTW a day. That only lasts me so long when it comes to training! I can't really break them down any more than they are now, and he is supposed to be on a diet, so I don't want to add a ton more treats to what he is already getting.
This isn't going to help the previous problem either:
They're beef ribs and I am going to use them to try and clean Frodo's teeth. Otherwise I am going to have to make him an appointment to get his teeth cleaned. They aren't all that bad, but they aren't pearly white like they were when he was eating all raw food. I want to order some turkey necks but I am worried they will be too large for my freezer.
Yet another random source of news...Frodo's front.
His front legs have always bothered me. I feel like they should be much straighter, he looks more like a Basset Hound or a Cardigan with the bent legs (I have this technical lingo down pat!). His chest is also very oddly shaped and sticks out very far forward compared to the other Pemmies I have been able to get my hands on. He isn't from the best breeding but his sire and many of his relatives are AKC champions. His sister had much better conformation than he does, and it showed in her athletic ability. He's my dud :p
And last but certainly not least. This is why I love my car:

It's sporty, fast, and awesome (not to mention GREEN!)...
...yet still completely dog functional.
I love how when I fold the back seats down they make a barrier so that Frodo doesn't attempt to get into the passenger seat. This is how I plan on taking him back to MN. Ryan is flying out and driving back with me (there may also be a third person), but I like how I can keep one seat up in the back so I can ride back there with Frodo if need be. He got restless on the 10 hour drive near the end when I wasn't petting him, so I bet I will be back there some of the time.

The End of random ramblings.
True fact: You can break TOTW kibble in half. I know- I do it. It does take a bit of work, but it is totally doable. (What can I say? I'm notoriously cheap when it comes to treats.)
I tried breaking it in half this morning, and failed. I couldn't break it with my fingers, so I tried a knife and that split it into about 5 pieces. Which is fine for indoor work, but I think it would be too small for me to handle out on our walks. Care to share your method? :p
